Paddle Happy Hove - Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Lessons in Brighton & Hove

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Lessons in Brighton & Hove

Did you know that based on provisional incident reports from RNLI lifeboat stations around the UK and Ireland, there was a 64% increase in the number of recreational water users aided by the RNLI, over the last couple of years.

Here, in Brighton & Hove we have seen an exponential rise in the number of people paddle boarding which is fantastic and with a little basic tuition on technique and conditions everyone can enjoy our amazing coastline and waterways safely.

Safety needs to go hand in hand with fun when paddle boarding. Whether you are a beginner, want to learn some new skills or just want a buddy to SUP with, we would love to help!

BSUPA Qualified Instructor

Kirsty Misso

As a family (and SUP pup) living just off the seafront in Hove, we have been paddle boarding for over 6 years. I have been in Hospitality all my working career but like many in Hospitality I was made redundant during COVID.

I saw this as a positive and took the opportunity to do something I love – Paddle boarding. Not only do I love it but I also saw the increase in people on the water over the last few years and felt that I wanted to encourage people to think about how to have fun safely while SUPing.

I am BSUPA Level 1 qualified and have two first aid qualifications, as well as a further water safety qualification.

I am currently learning to SUP Surf, getting there slowly – watch this space!

My paddle boarding lesson with Kirsty was fantastic! I was a complete beginner and Kirsty was excellent at talking me through all the basics, how to manoeuvre the board, as well as techniques to stay safe on the water. Kirsty is very friendly, calm and reassuring. I thoroughly enjoyed getting out on the water and I can’t wait for the next one! I highly recommend lessons with Kirsty if you want to learn paddle boarding safely.

We were a group of 6 who booked for a session with Kirsty. The process was straightforward to arrange. The instruction was excellent, and we all had a fantastic time out on the paddle boards. Was the highlight of our weekend in Brighton, and would highly recommend the experience to others. Can’t wait to get back out on the paddle boards again soon!
